A pedestrian and an umbrella contrast with the Rowing Man sculpture on Two Centre Square. The artwork, pictured from the sixth floor offices of Pryor, Flynn, Priest & Harber, was installed in 1989 and is the creation of Oklahoma City sculptor David Phelps.

Artistic boulder on Bethlehemkirchplatz, downtown Berlin. Various household items and pieces of furniture seem to be tied to this thing - ready to roll on. This nine metre piece of pop art is a reminder of Bohemian (Czech) refugees who found a new home in Prussia in the 18th century.

The oversized bundle stands for the belongings they brought to this very part of Berlin, the Friedrichstadt, where many of them settled for good and built their “Church of Bethlehem” (Bethlehemkirche) of which there is nothing left now but a floor plan recently paved in to the sidewalk.

CowParade turns heads in the city
A BLUE cow ice-cream, melting on the pavement just in front of St István's Basilica, is the work of András Hajdu, Balázs Magashegyi, and Krisztián Imre, and is arguably the most arresting and creative beast among the herd of 54 cows grazing on Budapest's streets during the CowParade that lasts until September 10. Cows can be spotted everywhere around the city, with striking specimens loitering at Lánchíd and Széna tér. However, to see the full potential of the creativity will take some more walking as the 54 animals are scattered around both Buda and Pest.

The cows can still be "adopted" by companies and at the end of the show they will be auctioned, the proceeds to be given to charity. Held already in Prague, New York and London, as well as several other cities, the CowParade provides a unique opportunity for contemporary artists to give vent to their outlandish ideas.
