Εδώ θα βρείτε πληροφορίες σχετικά με τις δουλειές και τις καριέρες στην Αυστραλία.

Θα πρέπει να αναφέρουμε οτι η Αυστραλία διαφέρει σε πολλά πράγματα στην αγορά εργασίας απο την πατρίδα.
Όροι όπως βιογραφικό ή αλλιώς cv ή αλλιώς resume (ρεζουμέ που λέμε και εμείς), συνέντευξη ή αλλιώς interview και διάφορα άλλα που θα αναφέρω παρακάτω δεν θα πρέπει να μας ξενίζουν γιατί εδώ είναι τα ξένα.
Παρόλο που έχουμε ίσως μάθει στην πατρίδα οτι ο εργαζόμενος σε μια πρέσα σε ενα εργοστάσιο δεν έκανε βιογραφικό και δεν πέρασε συνέντευξη, εδώ μπορεί και να το έκανε. Λέω μπορεί γιατι το 20% των εργασιών δημοσιεύονται και περνάνε απο τέτοιες διαδικασίες ενώ το 80% παραμένει κρυφό.
Με ποια έννοια κρυφό: Για να δημοσιοποιηθεί μια εργασία θα πρέπει να κινηθεί μια διαδικασία απο τον εργοδότη η οποία έχει και ενα κόστος π.χ. η αγγελία σε μια εφημερίδα κοστίζει, καθώς και να δαπανήσει ενα χρονικό διάστημα ώστε να δεχτεί τα βιογραφικά των υποψηφίων και αφού κάνει μια διαλογή σε αυτά να κρατήσει τα βιογραφικά εκείνων που θα καλέσει σε συνέντευξη. Η διαδικασία αυτή λέγεται και sortlisting.
Απο την άλλη μπορεί να έχει ήδη στο συρτάρι μερικά βιογραφικά κάποιων που πήγαν και ζήτησαν δουλειά, ενώ δεν είχε δημοσιοποιήσει ο εργοδότης οτι υπάρχει θέση, και να τραβήξει απο εκεί τους υποψήφιους για συνέντευξη κ.τ.λ. Ετσι θα γλυτώσει και το κόστος δημοσιοποίησης και χρόνο.
Αυτός που ζητάει δουλειά λοιπόν χτυπάει πόρτες και καταθέτει βιογραφικά. Εαν είναι εδώ πάει και απο εκεί και συστήνεται και διατηρεί και προσωπική επαφή. Τώρα με τα νέα μέσα όμως και απο την πατρίδα χωρίς κόστος μέσω email έχει την δυνατότητα κάποιος να στείλει βιογραφικά σε πλήθος εργοδότες.
Η διαδικασία μπορεί να γίνει και μέσω γραφείου εύρεσης εργαζομένων τα λεγόμενα recruitment agencies. Στην περίπτωση αυτή προσοχή στους όρους συνεργασίας με το γραφείο. Όχι γιατί απαραίτητα θα προσπαθήσει να κάνει κάποια απάτη το γραφείο αλλά ίσως να ζητάνε κάτι που να μην μας αρέσει. Πάλι συνηθισμένοι απο την πατρίδα τέτοια είδους γραφεία τα βλέπουμε περίεργα. Εδώ είναι κοινή πρακτική και παλιά ιστορία και αποτελούν ενεργό κομμάτι της αγοράς εργασίας της Αυστραλίας.
Εκτός απο τα γραφεία, υπάρχουν και τα site που είναι job boards δηλαδή πίνακες ανακοινώσεων εργασιών, με ειδίκευση σε τομείς της οικονομίας ή γενικά για όλα τα επαγγέλματα.
Παρακάτω παραθέτω μια τέτοια λίστα που συμπεριλαμβάνει και job boards και recruitment agencies κ.α.
Εαν κάποιος έχει βρεί, που θα βρεί, κάποιο που αξίζει να προστεθεί στην λίστα παρακαλώ να μου στείλει την διεύθυνση του με προσωπικό μήνυμα για να το βάλω εδώ και έτσι σιγά σιγά να δημιουργηθεί κάτι που θα μπορεί να το χρησιμοποιεί κάποιος και θα είναι αξιόλογο.

Τα περισσότερα job boards ζητάνε εγγραφή ή αν κάνετε εγγραφή ξεκλειδώνουν περισσότερα χαρακτηριστικά και δυνατότητες.

Κατα την εγγραφή, κλασικά, ζητάνε ενα mail και ενα κωδικό μαζί με συνήθως όνομα επώνυμο κ.τ.λ.

Καλό είναι πρώτα απο όλα να κάνετε ενα email απο τα web site που δίνουν δωρεάν email, ώστε να το έχετε μόνο και μόνο για αυτό το σκοπό, δηλαδή την εύρεση εργασίας.

Χρησιμοποιήστε το hotmail, livemail, yahoo, gmail ή οποιοδήποτε άλλο έχετε κατα νού και φτιάξτε ενα email για να δηλώνετε στα job boards sites.

Βέβαια μπορείτε να χρησιμοποιήσετε το email που πιθανόν έχετε αλλά συνήθως μαζί με τα ενοχλητικά spam και τα χρήσιμα θα έχετε ενα σωρό να ξεδιαλέγεται, χώρια που πρέπει να ελέγχετε μην πήγε στα spam το email που περιμένατε απο το job board.

Απο τα job boards για εκείνο που θα μιλήσουμε στην συνέχεια είναι το κρατικό jobsearch.gov.au
Είναι ενα απο αυτά που δίνουν την δυνατότητα να γίνουμε εγγεγραμμένα μέλη και μετά έχουμε περισσότερες δυνατότητες όπως:
Αποθηκεύουμε ενα profile σαν αναζητητές εργασίας και εφαρμόζουμε αυτό το profile στην αναζήτηση
Αποθηκεύουμε παρόμοια κριτήρια αναζήτησης και τα εφαρμόζουμε αυτόματα σε μελλοντικές αναζητήσεις
Δημιουργούμε resume ή ανεβάζουμε ενα απο τον υπολογιστή μας
Βάση των λέξεων που περιέχονται στο resume που ανεβάσαμε ή δημιουργήσαμε εφαρμόζουμε πάλι προσαρμοσμένη αναζήτηση
Φυσικά μπορούμε να ανατρέξουμε στις αποθηκευμένες υποβολές βιογραφικών σε δουλειές γιατι στις περισσότερες μπορούμε να κάνουμε άμεσα υποβολή απο το site και σχεδόν το σύνολο των χαρακτηριστικών αυτών τα έχουν ολα τα job boards sites.

Στο jobsearch.gov.au κορυφαίο είναι το χαρακτηριστικό "Include jobs from other job boards" που έχει στην αναζήτηση. Με αυτό και εφόσον το επιλέξουμε βλέπουμε αποτελέσματα οχι μόνο απο το jobsearch.gov.au αλλά και απο άλλα job board sites.

Σύμφωνα με το Εθνικό Σύστημα Υγείας και Ασφάλειας της Αυστραλίας, κάθε άτομο που εκτελεί εργασίες κατασκευής στην Αυστραλία πρέπει να έχει ολοκληρώσει με επιτυχία μια γενική εισαγωγική μαθητική ενότητα OHS, πριν αρχίσουν να εργάζονται σε οποιοδήποτε κατασκευαστική δραστηριότητα.
Οι κατασκευαστικές δραστηριότητες περιλαμβάνουν : την κατασκευή κατοικιών, αστικές κατασκευές, ανακαινίσεις, επισκευές, ανακαινίσεις, αφαίρεση αμιάντου, οι ξυλουργικές εργασίες, το κτίσιμο, σκυροδέματος, υδραυλικών και οροφή, το δάπεδο και τα ταβάνια.
Η μεταρρύθμιση αυτή είναι η τελευταία πρωτοβουλία ενός ευρύτερου προγράμματος για την εναρμόνιση επαγγελματικής υγείας και ασφάλειας μεταξύ των πολιτειών και των περιοχών της Αυστραλίας, και είναι εναρμονισμένη με την αμοιβαία αναγνώριση των καρτών κατασκευής που λαμβάνονται σε άλλες πολιτείες και επικράτειες.

Με άλλα λόγια όσοι σκοπεύουν να εργαστούν στον κλάδο των κατασκευών θα χρειαστούν την λευκή κάρτα. Ενδεχομένως να την βγάζουν και μέσω της εργασίας τους ή μέσω του εργοδότη τους.
Σίγουρα όμως μπορούν να την βγάλουν και μόνοι τους π.χ. απο εδώ (http://www.whitecardonline.com.au/)με 67AUD.

Είναι μια διαδικασία 4 βημάτων:
1. Τσεκάρετε την πολιτεία για την οποία θέλετε την κάρτα και ανάλογα την ενότητα
2. Ολοκληρώνεται την εγγραφή σας στην ενότητα και το online μάθημα.
3. Ξεκινάτε και ολοκληρώνεται το online μάθημα.
4. Στέλνεται τα απαραίτητα έγγραφά σας για την έκδοση της κάρτας σας.

Τα θέματα που καλύπτονται από την ενότητα κατηγοριοποιούνται σε τέσσερις βασικές ενότητες:
Τμήμα 1 Καλύπτει τον τρόπο προσδιορισμού της υγείας στο χώρο εργασίας και την ασφάλεια (WH&S)
Τμήμα 2 Παρέχει εκπαίδευση σχετικά με το πώς να εντοπίσει τους κινδύνους και τα μέτρα προστασίας?
Τμήμα 3 Σας εκπαιδεύει πώς να προσδιορίσετε WH&S θέματα επικοινωνιών και υποβολής αναφορών?
Τμήμα 4 Εξετάζει τις διαδικασίες για αντιμετώπιση περιστατικών.

Στο σεμινάριο που έκανα μας έδωσαν πληροφοριακό υλικό το οποίο ζήτησα και σε ηλεκτρονική μορφή για να το ανεβάσω εδώ. Ελπίζω να μην έχει copyright μόνο. Αν έχει και κάποιος με ενημερώσει θα το κατεβάσω.

Τα μαθήματα ήταν χωρισμένα σε διάφορα στάδια - modules και καθένα απο αυτά ασχολούνταν και με κάτι. Τα περισσότερα τα ξέρουμε ή τα έχουμε στο μυαλό μας συγκεχυμένα αλλά όταν τα έχεις γραμμένα απο επαγγελματίες του Human Resources (HR), είναι καλύτερα. Ασε που σε βάζει σε ενα πλάνο με ειρμό και σχέδιο.

Τα Modules είναι:
1. Διαχωρίζοντας τους στόχους και τα όνειρα
2. Δεξιότητες και ποιότητα
3. Υπερπηδώντας τα εμπόδια
4. Δουλειά επιβίωσης μέχρι την δουλειά που έχουμε ονειρευτεί
5. Μέσα στα παπούτσια του εργαζόμενου
6. Πληροφοριακή έρευνα
7. Συνάντηση με εργοδότη
8. Τι να περιμένω απο την εργασία μου και την προώθηση της καριέρας μου
9. Θα ελέγχω την δουλειά ή η δουλειά θα με ελέγχει
10. Παίρνοντας τον έλεγχο του μέλλοντός μου - αλλάζοντας τρόπο ζωής.

Δεν ήξερα οτι δεν αφήνει πάνω απο 8 ανεβάσματα σε ενα post, οπότε να και τα άλλα 2.

Να υπενθυμίσω ότι σκοπός του βιογραφικού είναι να τραβήξει το ενδιαφέρον του εργοδότη και να το ξεχωρίσει στο ξεδιάλεγμα και να περάσει στην λίστα με τα βιογραφικά των ανθρώπων που θα καλέσει σε συνέντευξη.

Τα επαγγέλματα που δημιουργούν την λίστα με τα Εθνικά επαγγέλματα που ζητούνται στην Αυστραλία.
Μιλάμε για επαγγέλματα που ανήκουν στην κατηγορία μαθητευόμενα (Apprenticeships) ή όπως λέμε στην πατρίδα οι τέχνες.

Επιτέλους βρήκα τι γίνεται με τις αναγνωρίσεις τίτλων σπουδών απο το εξωτερικό, στην Αυστραλία. Για άλλη μια φορά είναι λάθος ο τρόπος που προσεγγίζαμε το θέμα, μαθημένοι απο την Ελληνική πραγματικότητα, που είναι παράλογη.

Συνηθισμένοι λοιπόν απο την πατρίδα νομίζαμε οτι γίνονται αναγνωρίζεις τίτλων σπουδών όπως με το πρώην ΔΙΚΑΤΣΑ νύν Δ.Ο.Α.Τ.Α.Π. (http://www.doatap.gr/)

Το DIAC (www.immi.gov.au), έχει μια λίστα με τις αρχές αυτές, καθώς και πληροφορίες για κάθε επάγγελμα και τις απαιτήσεις του για κάθε περιοχή της Αυστραλίας στην σελίδα με τίτλο Australian Skills Recognition Information (http://www.immi.gov.au/asri/). (http://www.immi.gov.au/asri/)

Για εργασία γενικά:
Εαν δεν είναι αναγκαία η εγγραφή ή αδειοδότηση (που δεν είναι σε πολλά επαγγέλματα), τότε δεν είναι αναγκαία και η αναγνώριση των προσόντων του εξωτερικού. Μπορεί όμως μια αναγνώριση να βοηθήσει τον εργοδότη σας να καταλάβει το επίπεδο των προσόντων του εξωτερικού.

Γειά χαρά σε όλους

Για όσους ενδιαφέρονται να στείλουν ή να χρησιμοποιήσουν βιογραφικό για εύρεση εργασίας στην Αυστραλία καλό θα ήταν να έχετε υπόψη σας ότι στην Αυστραλία υπάρχουν κάποιες σημαντικές διαφορές στο πώς οι εργοδότες θέλουν να βλέπουν τα βιογραφικά, κάποια "must" και κάποια "must not", τα οποία συχνά διαφέρουν σημαντικά από τους αντίστοιχους κανόνες για Ευρώπη, Η.Π.Α. & Καναδά.
Υπάρχουν πολλές περιπτώσεις ελλήνων, που, συνηθισμένοι στο στύλ βιογραφικών που στέλνουμε στην Ευρώπη (ή και στην Αμερική), κάνουν το λάθος να τα γράφουν με τον ίδιο τρόπο γαι Αυστραλία, με συνέπεια συχνά να αγνοούνται ή να απορρίπτονται τα CV τους.

Οι βασικές διαφορές είναι συνοπτικά:
1. Όχι προσωπικές πληροφορίες (ηλικία, φύλο, θρησκεία, marital status)
2. Εκτενή και λεπτομερειακή περιγραφή (2-3 σελίδες) εργασιακών προσόντων, με λεπτομερή αναφορά πώς χρησιμοποιήθηκε κάθε skill & specialisation στη συγκεκριμένη εργασία. Αυτό είναι πολύ διαφορετικό απο το US-style CV, όπου μετράει η συνοπτικότητα και η συντομία. Αν γράφετε καλά, δείτε το πιο πολύ σαν μια μικρή έκθεση των προσόντων σας (μόνο εργασιακών...), παρά σαν μια στεγνή απαρίθμηση με bullets.
3. Language use: British English (όχι American) (π.χ. "specialisation", όχι "specıalızatıon").

Greek recruits to drive Melbourne taxis

UP to 1000 new taxi drivers will be hired from Greece to ease Melbourne's chronic cabbie shortage.
The radical plan aims to attract drivers from the economically ravaged nation with the promise of a guaranteed job and attractive lifestyle Down Under.
The move will see Melbourne's immigration history turn full circle, harking back decades to a time when Greek cabbies were a feature in the city.
Many candidates will be recruited at seminars held in Athens, where they will also be given details of tertiary courses they can enrol in as international students in Melbourne.
Successfully obtaining a student visa will allow them to work up to 20 hours a week as taxi drivers.
The immigrants will join local recruits in completing a two-week course at a new taxi academy established in conjunction with Chisholm Institute of TAFE.
As long as they are prepared to work hard, I think it's a good thing.
To open on April 2, the Australian Taxi Academy will employ training methods including:
ON-the-road mentoring by experienced cab drivers.
THE use of GPS navigation and in-car cameras to assess performance.
ROLE-playing sessions aimed at dealing with situations such as handling difficult passengers.
The standard driver training fee of up to $900 will be waived for inductees.
An alliance of taxi operators, including TaxiLink and Ambassador Taxis, is behind the move.
TaxiLink director Harry Katsiabanis said a shortage of drivers, partly blamed on the falling international student market, had forced operators to act.
"Taxis around the world are driven by immigrants. We think we can get our next wave of immigrant drivers from Greece," Mr Katsiabanis said.
Thirty-year veteran Louie Giannikos backed the move.
"When I started driving, 80 per cent of the drivers were Greek. Now they would be no more than 10 per cent," Mr Giannikos said.
"As long as they are prepared to work hard, I think it's a good thing."

Research reveals how well skilled visa holders do in the jobs market

Νέα ταλέντα ψάχνουν μόνα για εργασία στην Αυστραλία.


Νεοφερμένες Ελληνίδες στην Αυστραλία καταθέτουν τις εμπειρίες τους:

Νέες υψηλού μορφωτικού επιπέδου, με αξιόλογα τυπικά προσόντα, δεξιότητες και εργασιακή εμπειρία. Τρεις γυναίκες, οι οποίες ανταποκρίνονται πλήρως στο προφίλ του «νεοφερμένου», όπως προκύπτει από την πρόσφατη Έρευνα της Αυστραλο-Ελληνικής Κοινωνικής Πρόνοιας, μιλούν για τα εμπόδια που συνάντησαν και συναντούν στην προσπάθειά τους να προσεγγίσουν την αυστραλιανή αγορά εργασίας.

H Ντόρα Λακουμέντα είναι κάτοχος BSc in Genetics και Post Graduate Diploma in Education από το University of Melbourne. Μετά από 20 χρόνια διδασκαλίας Αγγλικών και διεύθυνσης του οικογενειακού φροντιστηρίου στην Πάτρα, επέστρεψε στον τόπο γέννησής της, τη Μελβούρνη, το 2012. Σήμερα εργάζεται σε Call Center. «Η θέση συνδυάζει Εξυπηρέτηση Πελατών με Τηλεφωνικές Πωλήσεις» λέει η κ. Λακουμέντα. «Το άγχος είναι πολύ και τα χρήματα λίγα. Όμως όταν ήρθα εδώ τρόμαξα με το υψηλό κόστος ζωής και επιδίωξα να εργαστώ το συντομότερο. Έστειλα αρκετές αιτήσεις, χωρίς να έχω την παραμικρή ανταπόκριση. Βρήκα αυτή τη δουλειά μέσω γνωστού και τη δέχτηκα. Σήμερα, με λιγότερο άγχος, θέλω να ψάξω για κάτι καλύτερο. Όμως οι γνώσεις και η εμπειρία μου σε ό,τι αφορά την προετοιμασία βιογραφικού ή τις συνεντεύξεις είναι πρακτικά ανύπαρκτες. Ποτέ πριν δεν χρειάστηκε να αναζητήσω εργασία και πραγματικά δεν ξέρω από πού να ξεκινήσω».

Στην περίπτωση της Αλκμήνης Μπαλντά, που στη διάρκεια της εικοσαετούς καριέρας της στην Αμερική, την Ευρώπη και την Ελλάδα είχε αρκετές φορές βιώσει τη διαδικασία διεκδίκησης μίας θέσης εργασίας, η προηγούμενη εμπειρία δεν φάνηκε ιδιαίτερα χρήσιμη. «Χρειάστηκε να ξεχάσω όσα γνώριζα σχετικά με το πώς λειτουργεί η αγορά εργασίας. Η επιλογή προσωπικού στην Αυστραλία ακολουθεί διαφορετικούς κανόνες» παρατηρεί η κ. Μπαλντά.

Με επαγγελματική διαδρομή σε θέσεις ευθύνης σημαντικών οργανισμών και σπουδές σε Πολιτικές Επιστήμες, Διεθνείς Σχέσεις και Ναυτικό Δίκαιο, στην Ελβετία και το Λονδίνο, κατέφθασε στη Μελβούρνη μαζί με τις δύο κόρες της, γεμάτη αισιοδοξία. «Σε αναμονή για την έκδοση της βίζας μου, και έχοντας στο μυαλό μου τον τρόπο που λειτουργεί το σύστημα στην Ευρώπη, προσπάθησα να έρθω σε επαφή με τοπικούς head hunters. Η εντύπωση που μου έδωσαν όσοι με δέχθηκαν ήταν εσφαλμένα αισιόδοξη - πιθανώς γιατί γνώριζαν ότι χωρίς βίζα δεν μπορούσα να εργαστώ, άρα δεν θα χρειαζόταν άμεσα να μου προτείνουν κάποια θέση. Δυστυχώς, αυτό λειτούργησε αρνητικά για μένα, διότι αν γνώριζα πόσο δύσκολο θα ήταν να βρω δουλειά στη συνέχεια, θα είχα φροντίσει να αποκτήσω τοπική εμπειρία, έστω εργαζόμενη εθελοντικά».
Η ανώμαλη προσγείωση για την κ. Μπαλντά έρχεται μετά την έκδοση της βίζας της, όταν ξεκινά τις αιτήσεις εργασίας. «Οι λίγες θέσεις που μου προτείνονται είναι με συμβόλαια μικρής διάρκειας. Γρήγορα διαπιστώνω ότι οι υπεύθυνοι επιλογής προσωπικού απλώς δεν λαμβάνουν υπόψη τους οποιαδήποτε εργασιακή εμπειρία έχει αποκτηθεί εκτός Αυστραλίας. Πιθανώς αυτό να μην ισχύει αν κάποιος έχει εργαστεί για πολυεθνικές όπως Coca Cola, Deloitte και PwC. Οι περισσότεροι, προκειμένου να ελαχιστοποιήσουν το ρίσκο, δεν αξιολογούν προηγούμενη εμπειρία και δυνατότητες εξέλιξης, αλλά αναζητούν υποψήφιους που θα ταιριάξουν «φωτογραφικά» στα ζητούμενα της θέσης. Κάποιοι είναι αρνητικά προκατειλημμένοι απέναντι στην Ελλάδα, ενώ ούτε τα τυπικά μου προσόντα φαίνεται να βαρύνουν στη διαδικασία της αξιολόγησής μου».

Στο σημείο αυτό η κ. Μπαλντά ξεκινά μια δομημένη προσπάθεια προσαρμογής στα νέα δεδομένα. Με τη βοήθεια εξειδικευμένου συμβούλου καριέρας, επιχειρεί «συνολικό re-packaging» του εαυτού της. Μαθαίνει πώς να ανταποκρίνεται στα ζητούμενα των recruiters: από το βιογραφικό και τις απαντήσεις στα key selection criteria, έως τη συνέντευξη. Το κόστος φτάνει τα $1.500, ωστόσο η ίδια συνιστά μια τέτοια επένδυση, επισημαίνοντας πως «χρειάζεται προσοχή στην επιλογή του ειδικού, δεν διακρίνονται όλοι από επαγγελματισμό και γνώση». Παράλληλα, αποκτά τοπική εργασιακή εμπειρία μέσα από θέσεις προσωρινής απασχόλησης. Σήμερα εργάζεται σε μία θέση ανάλογη του προφίλ της, στο Πανεπιστήμιο RMIT.

«Είναι πολύ εύκολο να σε καταβάλλουν οι συνεχείς απορρίψεις. Χρειάζεται επιμονή. Υπομονή. Γερό στομάχι. Να μάθεις να παρουσιάζεις τον εαυτό σου με διαφορετικό τρόπο, στοιχειοθετώντας το γιατί κάνεις για τη θέση. Πιστεύω ότι η Ελληνική Κοινότητα μπορεί να παίξει σημαντικό ρόλο εδώ, εμπλουτίζοντας τις υπηρεσίες που παρέχει, έχοντας στο μυαλό της τη νέα σύνθεση πληθυσμού που καλείται να εξυπηρετήσει» τονίζει η κ. Μπαλντά. «Η σωστή ενημέρωση είναι ένα ακόμη ζήτημα» προσθέτει. «Ο τρόπος που παρουσιαζόταν η χώρα από τα ελληνικά media ήταν παραπλανητικός. Μιλούσαν για οικογένειες που μετοικούσαν με όλα τα έξοδα πληρωμένα. Παραλείποντας να αναφέρουν ότι αυτά ίσχυαν μόνο για πολύ συγκεκριμένες, δυσεύρετες ειδικότητες».

Η Τίνα Νικηφοράκη, (η οποία πότε-πότε γράφει και για το «Νέο Κόσμο»), σε αντίθεση με τις δύο προηγούμενες κυρίες που άφησαν την Ελλάδα λόγω κρίσης, άφησε τη Νέα Υόρκη για τη Μελβούρνη, λόγω... έρωτα. Σύζυγος Αυστραλού υπηκόου, με μεταπτυχιακό στο Global Fashion Management, πτυχίο στα Οικονομικά και συνεργασίες με ονόματα όπως Calvin Klein και John Varvatos, χρειάστηκε να ξεκινήσει από την αρχή. Η πρώτη της δουλειά ήταν στις πωλήσεις ενδυμάτων, σε Outlet. Σήμερα εργάζεται ως Βοηθός Υπεύθυνη Καταστήματος σε αλυσίδα επώνυμων ενδυμάτων.

«Νιώθω ότι έκανα ένα πισωγύρισμα» λέει για το ότι η εργασιακή εμπειρία και οι γνώσεις της δεν εκτιμήθηκαν από την τοπική αγορά. «Οι recruiters άρχισαν να ανταποκρίνονται μόνο όταν απέκτησα εργασιακή εμπειρία στη Μελβούρνη. Και πάλι, οι θέσεις που μου πρότειναν ήταν στις Πωλήσεις και casual». Η δική της συμβουλή στους νεοφερμένους είναι «Δικτύωση! Ο σημερινός μου εργοδότης με βρήκε μέσα από το LinkedIn. Την πρώτη μου δουλειά στην Αυστραλία την βρήκα μέσω ενός networking event του HACCI. Και να είναι ανοιχτοί σε κάθε εργασία στην αρχή» προσθέτει. «Είναι σημαντικό να εμφανίζουν τοπική εμπειρία στο βιογραφικό τους».

Ενα ενημερωτικό ρεπορτάζ, απο μια γνωστή εκπομπή στην Αυστραλέζικη τηλεόραση, σχετικά με τους συμβεβλημένους job Providers.
Τουλάχιστον εμένα μου έλυσε κανα δυο απορίες που είχα μετά την εμπειρία μου με 3 διαφορετικούς job providers, όταν έψαχνα για δουλειά.

Και ενα σημειολογικό σχόλιο: Όταν εκανα ενα σεμινάριο με εναν απο τους Job Providers, είχαν σε μια πόρτα τζαμένια, μια αφίσα του Job Australia.
Μια μέρα η πόρτα ήταν ανοικτή στο τέρμα της και μπορούσα να διαβάσω απο την πίσω μεριά την αφίσα που τώρα όμως έλεγε, Dol Australia.
Με άλλα λόγια πως σας κρατάμε στο dol τουλάχιστον όσο έχουμε πρόσβαση σε κρατικό χρήμα υποστήριξης για εσάς. Μετά στον κάλαθο τον αχρήστων.
Προσωπικά δεν πήγα ούτε σε μια συνέντευξη μέσω των εταιριών αυτών. Με άλλα λόγια δεν έκαναν τίποτα παρα μόνο να τσεκάρουν το status μου κάθε δεκαπενθήμερο, πράγμα που το θέλαμε και οι δυο. Εγω για να μπορεί να συνεχιστεί το επίδομα απο το Centrelink, και εκείνοι για να συνεχίσουν να απομιζούν κρατικό χρήμα για να με "βοηθάνε" να βρώ δουλειά.

Α ναι. Είπαμε πουθενά δεν υπάρχει παράδεισος.
