Will the current capital controls affect my using of my Monese account?
As a Monese customers based in Greece you may use the account to withdraw as much as they like as long as the funds are in the account. The Government have not limited offshore account limits as it pours money into the economy such as tourism and business. Therefore you can transact as much as you like, balance permitting. Including paying for services abroad. Any blocks on accounts and transfers would be down to the Greece based bank and will be out of Monese’s control.
Can I transfer more than the €500.00 monthly limit?
Unfortunately not, This will likely be blocked by your Greek bank. This is out of our control. To avoid delays in payments we suggest you speak with your current bank before sending. It will not be blocked at our end but your other bank will likely block it.
I have assets abroad already. Can I transfer these?
You may. As there would not be any capital controls on this account, there would be no limit.
